We are not your common Pesach Program. We would like to share our beautiful community and city with you – the kosher traveler. As Avraham Avinu would do, we aim to offer hospitality par excellence at our Chabad House. The state of South Carolina's slogan is, “Smiling Faces, Beautiful Places”. Located just two blocks from the ocean, we are neighbors to 60 miles of sunny beaches.
Chabad of Myrtle Beach was founded in 1987, with a mission: Jewish education. Rabbi Doron and Morah Leah Aizenman and Rabbi Yossi and Morah Chani Naparstek co-direct our Jewish oasis. Our synagogue holds prayers together every morning and evening, on Shabbat, and for a full kiddush. Chabad Jewish Academy has provided excellent education for forty years, with 125 students. We have plans for a new educational center, an architectural landmark, to expand our current footprint.
We are also progressing towards another dream– a community of resort condos within walking distance of the synagogue. Families who begin Shabbat observance and many others seek housing near shul. This groundbreaking residential complex will transform the landscape.
Although we have been offering a seat at our seder table for all the years we have been in Myrtle Beach, our new spacious ballroom allows us to take it to this next level. Last year was our first season catering to kosher tourists, and it was a great success with families joining from Brooklyn, New York to Columbus, Ohio.
One visitor called it “the most spiritual Pesach he ever had”. Yes, prayers at our shul are very special. Singing in unison, you will find inspiration in the medley of traditional and Sephardic tunes. Pesach in Myrtle Beach is an excursion for body and soul. Looking forward to celebrating together.
